Osteoporosis makes bones thin and liable to break. Osteoporosis is a silent condition – you won’t know it is happening. It is therefore very important to be aware of what you can do to reduce the risk of osteoporosis – or to halt its progress.
Osteoporosis affects both women and men: one in three women and one in twelve men have it.

Once osteoporosis has developed, certain medications can improve your condition slightly, but in general there are few options for replacing the bone you have lost.
